When the hit TV show “Storage Wars” first aired on the A&E Network in late 2010, auction attendance boomed. But like most things, once the “newness” wore off, attendance also started to slip, which is why our Colorado stores now host online auctions through www.StorageTreasures.com.

The Storage Treasures site runs much like popular online auction site eBay that sells everything under the sun. (Think we’re joking? Check out this “Time” article of the “20 Weirdest Things Ever Sold On Ebay.”) http://time.com/4017026/ebay-20th-anniversary-weirdest-sales/  Potential bidders register for an account, and then they can browse storage auctions just about anywhere. Each self-storage facility schedules units for sale, complete with a general description and photos. Listings run for days to weeks at a time. Once an auction closes, the winning bidder pays a percentage directly to Storage Treasures, then their information is sent to the store. The bidder comes by our office, pays the balance, and moves everything out of the storage unit. It’s that simple.
