Guardian Storage supports The Education Partnership

Throughout our decades of community support, we’ve believed that education is essential to the health and growth of our communities.

As part of our largest commitment yet, we partnered with The Education Partnership (TEP) to help provide school supplies to Pittsburgh students with the greatest need. As part of that commitment, we adopted two schools this year – Clayton Academy and Urban Academy of Greater Pittsburgh.

Guardian Storage Adopted Schools

Guardian Storage worked with The Education Partnership to adopt two Pittsburgh Schools for the 2016-17 school year.

Urban Academy receives homework kits from Guardian Storage

Urban Academy of Greater Pittsburgh students received Power Tools homework kits from Guardian Storage through The Education Partnership.

Unfortunately, education continues to be under-funded, and that gap widens for lower income school districts. We were thrilled to provide Power Tools Homework Kits for these schools, but there are still many students in need.

TEP is serving 32,026 students and 2,638 teachers in the 2016-2017 school year by distributing school and classroom supplies. For a school to qualify for services, 70% or more of the student population must qualify for the National Free or Reduced Lunch Program. There are an additional 28,000 students who qualify but aren’t in the program because of funding needs.

There are a number of ways you can help change the life of a student:

  • Volunteer your time

  • Donate items or school supplies at any Guardian Storage Store

  • Make a monetary donation http://www.theeducationpartnership.org/donate

  • Spread the word to friends and family
